I am a researcher and data scientist. Currently, I am a postdoc in the Ben Raphael group at Princeton University. I obtained my Ph.D. in the Bioinformatics and Systems Biology program from University of California, San Diego under the mentorship of Siavash Mirarab.

My research area is computational biology. My research interests include developing scalable algorithms for large-scale biological data, computational cancer biology, phylogenetics and its applications in molecular ecology. Please take a look at my research projects, GitHub profile, and publications. I presented my work in ISMB, RECOMB, and GLBIO conferences. My project "Automatic cataloguing of genomes of the multi-domain tree of life" won UC San Diego Center for Microbiome Innovation (CMI) Grand Challenges Award in 2020-2021. Findings of my project has been published in Nature Biotechnology.

I obtained my M.S. in Computer Science at EPFL, where I worked on computational biology and bioinformatics in LCBB (lead by Bernard Moret). I completed my M.S. thesis titled Real-time Traffic Estimation on Highways Using Cellular Data at Swisscom, the major telecommunications provider in Switzerland.

Outside work, I enjoy reading, traveling, and various outdoor activities.
